I think it's important to point out : the 14% of revenue. It's 14% of REVENUE. Not BENEFITS. Not PROFITS. REVENUES.

Revenues is the raw amount of money that goes IN the company. It's before taxes. It's before costs. It's before salaries. It's before EVERYTHING.

I struggle to think of a single video game that could pay that, aside from the few gigantic successes. I struggle to think of any INDUSTRIES where a cost of 14% of your revenues doesn't erase your profit margin in its entirety.

@lastoneout that business model isn't just profoundly stupid : it's attempted murder of basically every Unity client.

This is greed taken to such a level of suicidal stupidity that it cannot be properly put into words.

At this point, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they DID sic mercenaries on him and published a graphic video of torture and murder to make an exemple out of him. Because it's wildly, stupidly out of any business related proportion.

Actually, this Unity mess makes sense when you learn that they've got the guy behind such brilliant ideas as "we should charge players per bullet in fps games" and "all together the Sims 4 expansion packs cost over $800" running the goddamn company.

That’s gotta be some-” Eddie is talking while looking at some point in the wall next to him and Buck’s not sure he’s even registering every word he’s saying and he’ll need to unpack the whole our thing later, but that’s not the thing that makes him freeze.  “Wait, back up,” he interrupts, shaking his head, and Eddie seems startled looking back at his face.  “What?” “What do you mean ‘because I dragged you out of bed’?” Buck asks and Eddie presses his lips together, blinking at him a couple of times.  “I mean- come on, man, I- I forced you to deal with it, and that almost got you killed.” “Eddie,” he tries, but he can’t find words as Eddie continues, back to staring at some point of the wall to his side.  “You wouldn’t be at that pier if I had let you wallow for one more day. And I didn’t even know, the whole day, I was thinking that it was lucky that you were missing it, that you were nowhere near that mess, that you were-” he cuts himself with a sharp breath, blinking up while clearing his throat, “but you were there the whole time,” he says with a humorless laugh.

EVERYTHING about it but ESPECIALLY that fucking HUG. oh my god. like. it literally plays on a never ending loop in my mind. the way buck is smiling SO HARD and literally CURLING into eddie, trying to basically melt into him and how eddie is PUSHING HIM AWAY. i cant get over that. how he allows himself probably 30 seconds to hug buck then he's like actually putting a physical distance between them. the SYMBOLISM of that alone. jesus. they were both so hurt back then and they couldn't even talk to each other. the fact that THAT hurt eddie the most, not being able talk to buck, to see buck. "now i can't even talk to you because of it" "do you know how much christopher misses you?" bc he's always hiding behind chris when he's trying to hold back his actual feelings. god GOD im obsessed with all of it. how it was like made completely clear that what buck did hurt eddie the most. bc of course it did. "i just want you to talk to me".
